Pregnancy Calendar Week 32

What’s Happening With Mom?

Your breasts are just about ready for breastfeeding. They’ve grown larger, and you’ll probably see a little colostrum leaking. If you are planning to breastfeed, one essential you’ll need is nursing bras. Here’s a blow for pretty underwear fans: nursing bras are functional rather than glamorous unless you want to spend some serious green. Get some nursing bras now but check the store’s return/exchange policy. Your breasts might grow another cup size or two once your milk comes in a few days after birth, and you’ll need a larger size.

Are you missing wearing stylish clothes? Maternity clothes have got a lot better in recent years but are either dull, or height-of-fashion-and-expensive, so treating your currently-glowing pregnant hair and nails can be a much better use of your fashion dollars. Having your hair done is the perfect fashion fix for pregnant women, and manicures, pedicure and other beauty treatments are great too, whether you go to the spa or pamper yourself at home.

What’s Happening With Baby?

Baby is gaining weigh so fast you could almost swear you could see your belly expanding. By this week, baby weighs about 4 lbs, and measures 11.5 inches head to rump.

By now, space is getting tight, your baby is getting a bit more cramped inside the uterus, and those roundhouse kicks are a little harder to do. There’s no relief for your internal organ though, as your baby gets bigger and stronger they can kick with more force. A jab in the bladder or a knee in the ribs can take your breath away.

Lots of activity is a good sign of a healthy baby. Be aware of how much your baby moves, and if you notice that your baby seems to be moving less, or hasn’t moved in a while, check with your doctor.
