What’s Happening With Mom?
Your body is working hard, every single part of it. Your muscles are sore, your joints are painful, your back aches. Take every opportunity to rest, and if it seems like there’s no time, try to make time.
Even though preparing for baby, and all that’s happening in your life now, is a lot of work, it’s nothing compared to actually taking care of a newborn. One of the best things you can do to get ready is to be rested and have all your strength and energy ready. Make time for you, rest, relax, and put your feet up.
Some moms might discover that their doctor orders them to rest. Several complications of pregnancy, like premature labor, or high blood pressure, can be alleviated by bed rest. Bed rest can vary from taking it easy and putting your feet up for a few hours a day, to 24-hour confinement, depending on severity of the condition. While we are all prepared to take that much disruption to our normal lives for the health of our babies, it doesn’t make it any easier or any less boring. If you doctor does put you on bed rest, it’s only until you deliver, so hang in there.
