What’s Happening With Mom?
In your last month, you’ll be seeing your doctor every week until your baby is born. It seems like there’s no time left at all and so much left to do! Packing your hospital bag, buying last minute baby things, putting the final touches on the nursery, spending time with your man while it’s still just the two of you, and trying to get in some sleep and rest in preparation for all the hard work of being a mom.
Most moms are on maternity leave from work by now. Moms with other kids don’t get maternity leave, so if you can, have friends and family help take care of your older kids so you can try to rest, and get things ready for the new baby.
Your uterus can descend lower into your pelvis, commonly known as your baby dropping. It lessens the pressure on your lungs so you’ll be able to breath more easily and may get some relief from heartburn. It also intensifies peeing, constipation and pain from hemorrhoids.
What’s Happening With Baby?
At 37 weeks, your pregnancy is considered to be full term, and babies born this week are as healthy as those born at 40 weeks. Baby’s rate of weight gain slows, just gain a few ounces a week. Your baby can arrive at any time now!
